A 12-year-old boy accused of stabbing a teenager to death with a machete told jurors his alleged victim put him in a headlock and was then stabbed by his co-accused of the same age.
The boy then described being given a lift home by his grandmother following the attack on Shawn Seesahai in a Wolverhampton park.
Mr Seesahai, 19, had flown to Britain from a Caribbean island for medical treatment on his eyes but in November last year was stamped on, beaten and stabbed in an unprovoked attack.
Two 12-year-old boys are standing trial for murder and are blaming each other for the death of Mr Seesahai, who was from the British Overseas Territory of Anguilla.
One of the defendants, who has admitted possession of the machete used in the attack, was questioned by his KC, Rachel Brand, this morning.

Assisted by an intermediary in the witness box, the boy described a confrontation with Mr Seesahai as he sat on a bench with his co-defendant and a teenage girl.

He told the court he answered 'why?' and then told Mr Seesahai's friend: 'Get your friend out of my face.'
The boy, who cannot be named because of a court order, said the machete was then taken out of his hand by his co-defendant, who 'pulled the case off it'.
